- Preparation time: 25 minutes (if chocolate is shredded by hand)

Ingredients
- 4 ripe bananas (frozen or not)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 113 g baking chocolate -1/2 cup walnuts

Method
- Shred the chocolate in small pieces using a knife Note: this provides chunks and chocolate powder.
- Preheat the oven at 350°F (180°C)
- Melt butter (30-45 sec in microwave)
- In a mixing bowl, mash bananas and add milk Note: It is okay if there are chunks of banana left
- Add melted butter, sugar & egg and mix well using a fork or a whisk
- Add the flour and mix using a wooden spatula
- Combine the shredded chocolate and nuts
- Butter a cake dish
- Add the batter into the dish
- Cook in the pre-heated oven, uncovered for 55 minutes.
- Cover the cake with foil and cook for an additional 15 minutes.
- Check the the banana bread is cooked using a knife.
